The double-blind peer review process for the Youth and Generation Studies journal ensures a fair and unbiased evaluation of submitted manuscripts. In this process:
Submission: Authors submit their research articles, ensuring anonymity in the initial submission stage.
Initial Screening: The editorial team performs a preliminary check to assess the relevance, quality, and adherence to submission guidelines. Manuscripts that meet the initial requirements are sent out for peer review.
Peer Review: The manuscript is shared with reviewers who are selected based on their expertise in the field. Both the reviewers and authors remain anonymous to each other throughout the process.
Reviewers’ Evaluation: Reviewers assess the manuscript based on scientific rigor, relevance, clarity, as well as formating and citations. They provide detailed feedback, highlighting strengths and weaknesses.
Feedback: After completing their evaluations, reviewers submit their feedback to the editorial team, which anonymizes and compiles the comments.
Editor’s Decision: Based on the reviewers' feedback, the editorial team makes one of four decisions:
- Accept: The manuscript is accepted as is.
- Minor Revision: The manuscript requires minor changes before publication.
- Major Revision: The manuscript needs significant revisions to meet the journal’s standards.
- Reject: The manuscript does not meet the journal's criteria and is declined for publication.
Revisions: Authors receive the reviewers’ feedback and, if necessary, address the points raised in a revised version of the manuscript.
Final Decision: After revisions are reviewed, the editorial team makes a final decision regarding acceptance or rejection.
Publication: Accepted articles undergo copyediting, formatting, and final approval before being published in the next available issue.
